The front gate of the University of San Jose-Recoletos – Main Campus opens today(June 6) for the first time in two years since the pandemic started.
To recall, the gates were closed in the third week of March 2020 when the Cebu City Government issued an executive order declaring the city to be under Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ). Work and classes were immediately suspended.
When the community protocols eased during General Community Quarantine (GCQ), only the back gate was opened when the school conducted limited on-site operations in the third quarter of 2020.
Starting June 6, Josenians can use the front gate for entrance only and the back gate as the only exit point to abide by the “one entrance, one exit” safety protocol. Entering individuals must wear masks and subject themselves to the temperature check. There is no need to show vaccination cards. An identification card (ID) is still required upon entry. Inside the premises, social distancing is implemented.
Meanwhile, limited face-to-face classes at the University will also start this week for engineering students who have laboratory-based subjects. Nursing students have also started their on-site internships at reputable hospitals ahead.
As of writing, the Tourism and Hospitality Management Department (THMD) under the School of Business and Management shared that it has a pending application to conduct limited face-to-face classes this coming summer class of 2022.
