INSTRUCTIONAL MEDIA CENTER - BASAK CAMPUS

The Instructional Media Center (IMC) plays an integral role in the fulfilment of the school’s goal of Quality Christian Community-Oriented Education. As vital resource center, it continuously supports the instructional program of the school through the provision of updated and upgraded resources which meet the curricular, instructional and recreational needs of the school community.

There are two offices in Basak Campus serving the basic education departments and two departments in the tertiary level.

The clientele from the School of Computer Studies, School of Education and Senior High School Department are served at the 5th floor of Saint Ezekiel Moreno Building while clients’ needs and requests from the Elementary and Junior High School departments are accommodated at the 2nd floor of Our Lady of Consolation Building.

The IMC service hours are convenient and supportive to serve the clientele’s needs.

 

SERVICE HOURS


Monday to Friday –  7:00 A.M. –  5:30 P.M.

 Saturday                 –  7:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.


IMC POLICIES/RULES AND REGULATIONS
Policies have been implemented to make the IMC materials, equipment and facilities available to as many clients as possible and to prolong the usefulness of these resources.

  1. The use of instructional media center resources is for instructional related  activities of the faculty members, students, administrators and other authorized users.
  1. The use of audio-visual materials, equipment, and previewing room is through reservation. No reservation no use policy is strictly observed.
  1. Reservation of audio-visual materials and equipment is made at least two (2) days before the actual use. Follow-up is made a day after submission/filling.
  1. Reservation form should be completely filled out, and should be duly noted by the Subject Teacher/Adviser/Department Head.
  1. Valid school ID is presented and is given to the IMC staff/ READS in lieu of the equipment/material being borrowed.
  1. Audio-visual materials and equipment borrowed from the IMC are to be returned on the same day on or before the closing time of the office.
  1. For video coverage request, a hard copy of the program should be given to the center before the scheduled activity.
  1. For overtime arrangement, the technician’s /READS’ service fee should be charged to the sponsor of the activity.
  1. Fund raising using audio-visual resources and facilities is strictly discouraged.
  1. Use of IMC resources and facilities on Sundays and holidays is strictly discouraged.
  1. All clients and their representatives are jointly and severally responsible for whatever damage(s) that may arise directly or indirectly in the use of the materials or equipment.
  1. The Instructional Media Center reserves the right to cancel/revoke a permit granted to anybody in case of misrepresentation and/or violation of its rules and regulations.
IMC SERVICES
To assist in carrying out the instructional programs of the school, the IMC offers the following services:

A.  Reference and Information

A personal assistance given to clients in  their information and research needs.

B. IMC Orientation and Instruction

IMC Orientation refers to helping people be aware of and comfortable with the facilities and the services available, with the location of the collections and with the people who service those collections.

IMC Instruction refers to the teaching on the effective use of the IMC to the students and other users.

C.  Circulation Service

The service involves the following activities: charging and discharging of audio-visual materials, equipment and facilities, and the returning of such to its proper location.

D.  Current Awareness/Information Dissemination

An  on-going dissemination of information to the faculty and other members of the school community with regards to the newly acquired AV materials, equipment and services.

E.  Documentation

Still or video coverage of the departmental and institutional activities.

F.  Production/Reproduction

 This includes, audio recording, video transfer and digital and analog editing of the different school related activities.

G.  Previewing

A service for faculty members wherein they check and view teaching aids and materials from the center before the actual viewing to their respective classes.

For the first time in two years, the Junior High School learners gathered at the Recoletos Coliseum for the Pakighimamat 2022 organized by the Student Development and Placement Center.

This activity aims to introduce the new students to the Josenian Family as well as to their new environment and to help them develop a deeper sense of belonging.

The Junior High School Department culminated the School Year  2021-2022  with a Thanksgiving mass  (June 23, 2022)  and a limited Face to Face Moving-Up Ceremony (June 24, 2022) for grade 10 completers and a Virtual Recognition Ceremony (June 25, 2022) for grade 7 to grade 9 students.
