“Sa wakas nabalik na jud ang trono na nakadaog na pud og balik ang HMS,” a member of the group jovially expressed after the announcement of winners of the said event.
Hospitality Management Society, together with the Le Cercle Culinaire, the snakes, was declared as the Top Predator as they won the annual competition in celebration of the Commerce Week, the Spotlight 2016: Battle of the Wild last January 22, 2016 at the Center for Performing Arts.
Divine M. Dolleno, president of HMS, happily said, “Overwhelmed, wala mi ga expect nga mo come back na jud ang HMS . . . Super happy . . . great accomplishment as a president.”
The president was crying her heart out along with all other members of the organization as they heard the announcement. They can’t believe that they have finally won the title this year considering that they also won Spotlight few years back. One of the striking messages of the organization’s performance was: save the wild or risk being called wild.
Different organizations represent different wild animals. HMS are the snakes, JPMAP are the penguins, JPIA are the eagles, JFINEX are the monkeys, TCO are the sharks, JEMS are the bats, and JBEES are the lions.
Junior Philippines Institute of Accountants (JPIA) ranked 2nd place and Tourism Circle Organization (TCO) ranked as third place.
One of the highlights of the event was the most awaited performance of the faculty of the College of Commerce which was participated by the most agile and graceful dancing teachers.
The crowd went wild as the teachers made their own version of Ms. Universe 2015 with Chef Hao as Miss Philippines, Ms. Ayn Soleil Rosales as Miss Colombia, and Ms. Rosemarie Jacalan as Miss USA.
Extreme happiness radiated the faces of every Josenians who came to witness this year’s Spotlight and this astounding facet brought contentment and success to the hearts of the dean, chairman, teachers, as well as the working scholars (READS) who form part of this soul-gratifying phenomenon.
