The University’s Center for Performing Arts was invaded by the most glamorous and cunning ladies and gentlemen of the College of Commerce during the search for the new Mister and Miss Commerce last January 15, 2016.
The male representative of Junior Executive Marketers Society (JEMS) and female representative of the Tourism Circle Organization (TCO) beat other beauty hopefuls to rightfully claim the most prestigious title of being this year’s Mr. and Ms. Commerce 2016.
“A quality of a man with a substance is a man of fear with God,” said Mr. Andres Estrada during the Q and A portion. “Everything would be coming from the grace of God.”
Mr. Estrada, a Business Administration student major in Marketing Management was crowned the newest Mister Commerce 2016. He was also awarded as Best in Production and Best in Theme Wear.
On the other hand, Ms. Lawrence Casas, a Tourism Management student, shone brightest among all six candidates and was crowned as Miss Commerce 2016. She garnered majority of the special awards in the female category.
She was named as Best in Production, Best in Corporate Wear, Best in Long Gown, Ms. Photogenic as well as Ms. Congeniality.
Casas was asked: If there is one thing you could do to change the world, what would you do and why?
She answered: “If there is one thing I could do to change the world, I will use my ability and knowledge to initiate change and inspire my fellow Josenians to take part in making a difference not only in this institution but also to the society as a whole.
“I want to show the Josenian Community that a real beauty queen not only wear a crown in your head but also on your heart.”
Her eloquent answer boosted her chances and became her advantage in winning the title.
Ivan Khail Pamugas from TCO was awarded as Mr. Commerce 1st runner up, the Male People Choice Award, Mr. Photogenic, Best in Corporate Wear as well as Best in Formal Wear Male Category.
Acer Philip Lupo from JPMAP won as Mr. Commerce 2nd runner up. Kristi Anne Degamo from JEMS was awarded as Miss Commerce 1st runner up and Eloisa Katrina Orimaco as Ms. Commerce 2nd runner up.
