CAS showcase students’ public speaking prowess on 72nd anniversary

Josenians showcase their public speaking and literary prowess in different competitions slated during the celebration of the 72nd founding anniversary of the College of Arts and sciences (CAS).

Speechfest highlighted this year’s week-long celebration which kicked off on February 18 and lasted until 23.

Dr. Glenn G. Pajares, CAS dean, said the Speechfest is an avenue where students exude creativity, imagination, innovation, and character formation. He added that he considers the event as a rendezvous of intelligence and genius where art is seen dynamic.

The said event was comprised of different competitions namely: declamation, extemporaneous, oration, and spoken word poetry which were held at the Center for Performing Arts.

Here are the winners of the different categories:

Destinee Noor delivers her poetry piece about how the public complaints about the current issues of the society but are passive in implementing solutions.

The CAS week was concurrently celebrated with the Vocation week of the Campus Ministry Office of the USJ-R.Other activities include the Echo Seminar, the 3rd Adelante Creative workshop, and the Model United Nations (a mock debate demonstration) were also conducted.
