Pursuant to Republic Act 10533 (RA 10533) otherwise known as the “Enhanced Basic Education Act”, the University of San Jose Recoletos proactively responds to the national educational landscape shift through offering the Senior High School (SHS) Program. USJR, as an excellent educational institution is granted by the Department of Education to empower Senior High students to acquire holistic learning through a curriculum that is rooted on sound educational principles and geared towards excellence, to achieve competence engaging in productive and collaborative academic and non-academic works, to coexist in fruitful harmony with local and global communities, to be capable in engaging to creative, and critical thinking, and the capacity and willingness to transform one’s self and others. The USJR-SHS prides in offering the relevant programs of the Academic and Technical-Vocational (Tech-Voc) Livelihood tracks to both professional and industry needs.
On April 1, 2003, the University of San Jose-Recoletos opened the Institute of Information, Computer and Communications Technology (IICCT). The nomenclature was changed on June 1, 2004 to College of Information, Computer and Communications Technology (CICCT). The College was evolved to unify all computer-related degree programs under one umbrella and address the demands of the global market which requires more agile and need-based curriculum. The degree programs offered under CICCT are Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) with specializations in Natural Language Processing and Image Processing, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) with specializations in Mobile Applications Development, Web Application Development and Multimedia and Animation Development, Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS), and Associate in Computer Technology (ACT).
USJ-R, with its vision “To be a premier Gospel and community-oriented educational institution committed to transforming individuals to become more responsive leaders of the society through innovative integral formation” and whose one of its mission statements is “Toefficiently, effectively, and ethically implement measures to ensure economic viability and social desirability of programs” (USJ-R Faculty Manual, p viii), is taking the lead in establishing programs that intensify the relationship of theoretical and applied knowledge which answer the demand of today’s global business environment.
We envision the University of San Jose-Recoletos to be a premier Gospel and Community-oriented educational institution committed to lead in instruction, research, community engagement, and innovation in order to transform Josenians into proactive and compassionate leaders, creators of communion, and dynamic partners of society in the 21st Century.
