School of Engineering

One of the oldest courses in the University of San Jose-Recoletos, the School of Engineering always embark on various activities geared to strengthen the students with high technical competence and proficient in their field of specialization. With its effort to produce better quality results of its Outcomes Based Education (OBE), College of Engineering continues to collaborate with their stakeholders, industry, government, the community and other sectors in the society.

To expose the students with the recent and actual work situations, the college continues to create good relations with the industries through linkages that would help them develop, gain new knowledge, skills and values.

With the thrust to reinforce researches of the university, the college envisioned to become one of the Regional Centers in the Philippines in the following specialization;

  1. Researches in Material Science;
  2. Non-conventional power sources such as Solar, PIEZZO Acoustic and PIEZZO Electric; and
  3. Robotics Manufacturing

Serving as guide for the different activities to be conducted are the vision, mission and objectives of the college.

History

The USJ-R College of Engineering was established in 1958 with less than fifty students and
curricular offerings for the first and second years only. Classes were then held at the old USJR-R administration building.

From 1961 the College has produced several topnotchers and with the improved standards
and facilities of the University, the College of Engineering is expecting to produce even more.

The USJ-R College of Engineering was accredited on September 1981, re-accredited on January 1985, in 1991, in 1997, and in 2007 by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools,
Colleges and Universities (PAASCU).

The College also has linkages with local and foreign organizations and corporations. The
Engineering curricula are revised constantly in consonance with current developments and
trends in engineering education and the industry. The College is a member of the consortium
of engineering schools in the following areas: faculty, laboratory facilities, library, research and publications, and co-curricular activities.

Vision

A college where all programs are Centers of Excellence by year 2020.
 

Mission

Our college is committed to produce globally-competitive, environmentally- conscientious and socially responsible engineering professionals imbued with Josenian Values. Our graduates will take the lead in building and transforming communities towards a better life.

Objectives

Three to five years after graduation, the graduates will;
  1. Hold lead roles in the practice of CE, CpE, ECE, EE, IE, ME and their respective fields. – COMPETENCY
  2. Continue to gain new knowledge and skills through personal and professional development. – LIFE-LONG LEARNING
  3. Exemplifies the Josenian Values of Caritas ‘et Scientia through involvement in Community-Oriented endeavors. –VALUES
