Regular Program

About this Course
This is a regular four-year course covering the subjects prescribed and approved by the Legal Education Boards and the Commission on Higher Education. Classes are scheduled at 5:30pm to 8:30pm from Monday to Saturday.
Careers
All Bachelor of Law Degree holders may be able to seek career opportunities in the following:

  • Government and Court Personnel
  • Legislative and Legal Assistants
  • Legal Researchers
  • Executive Assistants for Judges and Justices of the Court of Appeals
  • Human Resource Head
  • Legal Staff in various legal departments of private and government offices
  • Non Government Organizations

Members of the Philippine Bar may likewise opt to do either private practice, in-house counsel work, court litigation. They may also explore the fields of practice in the judiciary and other government offices. Given the number of years of practice in the judiciary and other government offices. Given the number of years of practice, lawyers may thereafter be qualified to hold key positions as Cabinet Secretaries and as members of the Judiciary.

Admission Requirements
  1. No student shall be admitted to the course leading to the degree Bachelor of Laws unless he has pursued and satisfactorily completed in an authorized university or college a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree provided he has earned at least 18 units in English, 6 units in Mathematics and 18 units in Social Science or such other units as may be required by the Legal Education Board or the Commission on Higher Education
  2. Any person who desires to enroll in the School of Law of the University of San Jose Recoletos must take and pass the entrance examination prescribed by the university after presenting all necessary documents.
  3. Transferees to be admitted in the School of Law must, after presenting a certificate of grades from their previous law school take and pass the entrance examination and undergo personal interview with the Dean of the School of Law. Only transferees seeking admission in the Freshmen, Sophomore and Junior year levels may be admitted in the School of Law.
  4. Transferees who pass the entrance examination but have failing grades at any year level from his/her previous law school may be admitted on PROBATION. In which case, they shall observe the policy on probation as stated in item 3.
  5. Transferees who pass the entrance examination and do not have any failing grades from his/her previous law school may be admitted without probation.
  6. Returnees who wish to re-enroll with the school of law shall be subject to evaluation by the Dean and the status of their enrollment will depend on the said evaluation.
  7. All students officially enrolled with the School of Law shall abide by the proper sequencing of subjects and subject loads in the course syllabus.
