The Junior Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (JPIA) of USJ-R was awarded as “Outstanding Local Chapter for School year 2016-2017” during the 34th Annual National Convention of Accounting students held in summer this year at Baguio City.
This national distinction is conferred on a local chapter which has demonstrated exemplary performance in both academic and non-academic activities that promote the welfare of accounting students.
The award was given by the national federation of JPIA and the P & A Grant Thornton, one of the leading auditing firms in the country today.
For the school year 2017-2018, two Josenians were elected to assume top leadership roles at both local and regional levels. Michael Berturan is now the President of the Cebu Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (CF-JPIA), while Frances Bernadette Baylosis was elected President of the Regional Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (RF-JPIA).
