For the second consecutive time, USJ-R was awarded again as an Outstanding Local Chapter of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA).
The said award was conferred during the 35th Annual National Convention of the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NFJPIA) last April 29 to May 1 in Bacolod City.
The convention is a gathering of all the JPIA-member accounting students across the country and the awarding of the different activities and competitions provided.
It is organized by the NFJPIA in Partnership with the Top Audit Firms of the country.
It serves as an opportunity for the participants to showcase their intellects as well as their non-academic talents.
Meanwhile, representatives from USJ-R were able to win awards from the different activities.
Sheina Rose Vilbar, BSA-4, won two awards particularly the Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) Cup where she won 4th place; and the Taxation Cup where she won 2nd place.
Jacob Rizada, BSA-5, won 2nd place while Clyde Mosquera, BSA-4, won 5th place in the Management Advisory Services (MAS) Cup.
USJ-R JPIA Team composed of Marianna Dell Oberes, Fatima Tan, and Zackery Lyle Celis were declared as the Champion in the Auditing Case Study Competition.
The activities during the 35th Annual National Convention include Quiz bowls, Case Study Competitions, Accounting Seminars, Career Orientations, Poetry Writing, and Fellowship Nights.
Some of the participating universities were the University of San Carlos, De La Salle University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Manila, and the University of Santo Tomas.
