A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed by the City Government of Ormoc in Leyte and the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) so the latter can offer a master’s program on management.
The ceremonial signing happened on January 23, 2023 at the session hall of the said city government.
Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres said that the presence of USJ-R in Ormoc City is very timely. She added that Ormocanons need not to travel nor look far any longer for quality education because a well-established university is already in their area.
To recall, a USJ-R Campus at Barangay Bantigue, Ormoc City is underway. For a start, the University will be offering the program Master in Management major in Public Service Management to LGU employees.
USJ-R Vice President for Academics and Research Rev. Fr. Jose Alden Alipin, OAR was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Anthony Morillo, OAR from the OAR Provicialate and other leaders in the Josenian academic community.
The Order of the Augustinian Recollects (OAR) and USJ-R also co-gifted the City an image of Nuestra Señora de la Salud after the signing.
