Journalism graduate Wenilyn Sabalo bagged the 2019 GMA Network Excellence Award (GNEA) for Communication.
The awarding ceremony was held earlier today at the GMA Network Center in Quezon City. As a prize, she received a trophy and P50,000.
This is the third consecutive time that a Josenian bagged the said national award. The first awardee was Lorraine Mitzi Alonzo Ambrad in 2017 and Mark Roland Romas in 2018.
GNEA is a search that recognizes excellence among college graduates who demonstrated “exemplary leadership, stellar academic performance, and proactive social responsibility” according to the GMA website.
Sabalo finished as Magna Cum Laude in USJ-R in March 2018.
During her college years, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Purveyor Publication which under the Department of Journalism and Communication. She was also the former President of Josenian Journalism Axis (JAX).
At present, Sabalo works as a reporter for Sunstar Cebu.
