For the first time this year, the newly appointed vice presidents of the Josenian administration were introduced to the academe at the Opening Salvo yesterday at the University of San Jose Recoletos – Basak Campus.
Rev. Fr. Cristopher C. Maspara, OAR remains the University President, along with the Administrator for the Student Security Department Rev. Fr. Hernando D. Coja, OAR and Brother Jaazeal D. Jakosalem the Property Administration Office Administrator.
The remaining positions consisted of young priests from the Order of the Augustinian Recollects placed in the different vice presidential posts.
The new Religious Administrators include Rev. Fr. Leo G. Alaras, OAR, the new Vice President for Academics, Rev. Fr. Rouel M. Sia, the Vice President – Administration, the VP for Religious Affairs is Rev. Fr. Arian Josef M. Ocheda, OAR, and Rev. Fr. Roy B. Baluarte, OAR is assigned for Student Welfare.
The Talavera House of Prayer also has a new Director in Rev. Fr. Domingo E. Saladaga Jr., OAR, while the Community Prior, and at the same time, the VP – Business and Finance is Rev. Fr. Leopoldo V. Estioko, OAR.
The changes in the administration are due to the constitutional appointing of the Augustinian council every three years. However, Father-President Maspara mentioned that starting this year, it will be changed and the administration will change every four years instead.
Fr. Maspara also mentioned that the decisions of where the different administrators were assigned were made by the Father Provincial and the Order’s Religious Council.
“These are young people, a majority is young and I am confident that they will bring more changes in the administration and also maybe exciting new programs and projects,” he shared about what the new administrators could bring to the school.
The former Vice Presidents were Rev. Fr. James T. Bumangabang OAR for Academics; Rev. Fr. Nestor C. Raras, OAR for Student Welfare; Rev. Fr. Vicente L. Ramon Jr., OAR for Finance ; Rev. Fr. Emilio P. Jaruda, OAR for Administration; and Rev. Fr. Niño Cesar R. Ruiz, OAR for Religious Affairs.
To celebrate the start of the classes and the entry of new administrators, the students prepared cultural performances to make the day more memorable like Singkil and Banga dance.
