The USJ-R Library System in coordination with the Departmental Advisory Library Committee (DALC) held a two-day Campus Book Fair last May 12–13, 2016 at the Main Library. The activity aimed to update the library’s growing collection of print and non-print materials in support to quality instruction.
The book fair featured the latest books, references, audio-visual and other learning and instructional materials from various publishing industries. The Library System invited book dealers across the land to display diverse array of print and non-print sources for the selections and recommendations of the deans, principals and faculty members from different colleges and departments of the university. The book exhibitors participating at the event were Academic Book Sales, Inc., Belview Co., Inc., CD Books International, Inc., C & E Publishing, Inc., F & J De Jesus, Inc., Fastbooks Educational Supply, Inc., Forefront Book Co., Inc., Higher-Ed Book Resources, Info-Ed Resources, Linar Educational Materials, Inc., MegaTEXTS, Phil., Inc., New Century Books & Gen. Mdse. and Super Pages Trading.
The librarians and staff carefully checked the bibliographic details and did the preliminary evaluation of the recommended titles before final approval for purchase. These were meticulously done to avoid duplication of copies and to minimize acquisitions of superseded editions with unsubstantial revisions.
The annual fair was an opportunity for the whole Josenian community to be well provided and updated with learning resources essential in achieving Quality Christian Community-Oriented Education. Kudos to everybody for the two-day affair closed satisfyingly. (LPLumasag)
