The College of Information, Computer and Communications Technology (CICCT) garnered 2 nd runner-up in the 12 th Smart Sweep Innovation and Excellence Awards held last February 11, 2016 at the Green Sun – Axon, Makati City. The team is composed of Mr. Lloyd Yosoya (BS Business Administration), Mr. Michael Labrador (BS Computer Science), Ms. Maria Kristine Igot (BS Computer Science) and Mr. Andre Leceña (BS Computer Science).
The objective of the national competition was to harness the innovative ideas of students from various colleges and universities across the Philippines in the fields of Technology and Engineering. Among the 300+ entries throughout the 71 participating schools in the country startup idea Quest: “A Gamified Mobile Globetrot Recommender Application” stood out as the only Visayas Team that has reached the Top 3 spots. Quests, is a mobile gamified travel recommender application that supports the tourism development and economy of the country. Furthermore, it also enhances the recommendation module by observing the travelling behavior of users and creates a model for generating an itinerary.
