The Junior Business Executives and Entrepreneurs Society (JBEES) members recently attended the Creativity and Innovation Summit organized by Go Negosyo on August 29, 2014 at the Convention Hall of JCentre Mall, Mandaue City. This is a one-day activity which aims to bolster the entrepreneurial spirit and allure Filipinos in utilizing their creativity and innovation to pave way for the business’ growth.

The activity highlighted several successful businessmen starting off with the Founding Trustee of Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, Joey Concepcion. It is further graced by Senator Bam Aquino, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship. Some guests in the roster are the list of renowned speakers as follows:  Josiah Go, Chairman and Chief Marketing Strategist (Mansmith and Fielders, Inc.); Bunny Pages, Chairman and CEO (Pages Holdings Inc.), Kenneth Cobonpue, multi-awarded furniture designer, Jay Jonathan Aldeguer, President (Island Souvenirs Group) and Koh Anthony Onozawa, Go Negosyo Young Inspiring Cebuano Entrepreneur 2014 Awardee.

The presentation and inspirational talks of successful businessmen would help the attendees formulate innovative products or services and sustain them. This could help the students in pioneering novel products and services and could be applied in their project studies. Students from USJ-R were accompanied by their BA 3 and BA11 adviser, Ms. Ma. Elena Co. Also in the event are the following faculty members (not in photo): Dr. Adela Catipay, Dr. Anabella Barcena, Dr. Ida Larmi Panganiban, Ms. Younglin Hitutuane and Ms. Ma. Teresa Vito.

During the summit, students from the university assisted in registration of participants as invited by the summit secretariat. As early as now, the professors are gearing the students to interact with future colleagues in business. They are also oriented to various business strategies with the guidance of competent Business Management faculty members.
