The topnotcher recalled that she cried after the exam because she finds it hard and feels like she fell short in her goal to be part of the top 10. Upon reading the results posted by the Professional Regulation Commission today, November 25, she burst into tears as she called her family.
Mabini is from Palompon, Leyte. She opted to study in Cebu and picked USJ-R. She is also thankful to the scholarship grant of USJ-R to students who finished senior high school with honors, which she credited as one of the reasons why she picked the University.
In 2023, she finished as Summa Cum Laude with the degree Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, specializing in Structural Engineering. Mabini added that her education in USJ-R gave her a strong foundation in understanding complex engineering concepts which she has to solve during the exam.
Civil Engineering Department Chair Elvira Sales shared that USJ-R provides an intensive program and industry experience to provide optimal learning conditions to their students.
According to the USJ-R Vice President for Academics & Research, Mabini will receive P75,000 and a brand new laptop as a reward.
The last time that USJ-R has a topnotcher in the field of civil engineering was in 2019 according to Engineering Dean Dennis Kilongkilong.
