The program trains its students in traditional areas of mechanical design, fabrication and installation including medical and hospital equipment, energy conversion, fuel and combustion technologies, heat transfer materials, noise control and acoustic, manufacturing processes and operation, rail transportation, automatic control, product safety and reliability, renewable energy and the highly technological areas such as mechatronics and robotics as well as other technological impacts to society. It also focuses on the behavior of materials when forces are applied to them, such as the motion of solid, liquid gases, and heating and cooling of the objects and machine. The Mechanical Engineering department is accredited Level III by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU).
