Fifty-three students of the University of San Jose – Recoletos (USJ-R) were conferred with their certificates after completing their Diploma Program in Supply Management (DPSM).
All of which are already working professionals whose jobs are related to supply management.
The commencement exercises for DPSM Batch 11, 12, 13, and 14 was held on November 5 at Maayo Hotel. Their diplomas were handed over by the University President and Vice President for Academics and Research.
DPSM studies the act of identifying, acquiring, and managing the resources and suppliers that are essential to the operations of an organization. It runs for six months only. The program was first offered in 2010.
School of Business and Management Dean Edgar Detoya said that this program is offered through a collaboration with the Philippine Institute for Supply Management (PISM). He added that USJ-R is the only school outside Metro Manila with this program.
“PISM markets the program and provides the pool of experts in the field of supply management who serve as speakers. USJ-R provides the faculty for general subjects,” he said.
Ryan Riaza, a DPSM graduate, expressed his gratitude to USJ-R and PISM for the collaboration which enabled him and his fellow graduates to finish. He added that he feels overwhelmed for being able to finish his college degree and post graduate study at age 40 this 2022.
“Truly no one can stop us from learning if we truly push for it,” he said.
At present, he is the director for corporate services and project management of the Abaca Group.
