After Cebu City is placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), the University of San Jose-Recoletos extends its on-site operations from five to six days a week.
The University is now open every Monday to Saturday. Hence, Josenians who have concerns with the offices can personally visit the campus. It is open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
As a basic requirement, guests must bring an ID. The only entrance which is open during this pandemic is the University’s back gate, located along Leon Kilat Street.
Below are some key things to note before visiting the campus.
Upon entry, the temperature of the visitors will be checked. Only persons whose temperature is 37.4 degrees Celsius and below will be allowed to get to the University premises. Guests are also advised to wear a face mask and face shield. Furthermore, they are encouraged to bring their own pens and sanitizers.
Inside the campus, physical distancing must be observed at all times. The guards supervise the area to make sure that everyone adheres to the protocols set by the educational institution. A public service announcement (PSA) is also played every hour to remind the guests about the health protocols to counter the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID).
Clients do not need to set an online appointment in order to enter the University and transact with this office. They only need to present an ID upon entry and share to the guard their type of transaction so they can be guided accordingly. Upon arrival in front of the said office, secure a queue number through a machine at the teller area.
Transactions with this office can also be made online through online banking and payment centers. For payment verification, it is available through the School Information System (SIS).
Unlike the other offices, clients can only transact from Monday to Friday. Only the first thirty (30) guests who have requests at the Registrar will be accommodated per day. Of the thirty, the first fifteen (15) will be entertained in the morning and the next half will be accommodated in the afternoon. The guards at the USJ-R Main Campus (back gate) will give the queue numbers for those who have to file document requests.
Meanwhile, those who will just claim their documents only need to show their claim stub in order to proceed directly at the said office. A queue number must be secured upon arrival at the Registrar’s Office. The transaction numbers flashed on-screen serve as the guide on which guest is to be accommodated at the window.
Alumni and current students who wish to secure a Good Moral Certificate must go to this office. It is located beside the chapel.
Tourism students who wish to claim their internship uniforms can come here, too.
Transferees who wish to be interviewed for admission purposes need to schedule an appointment. The interview is only done online so there is no need to come on-site. The first step is to send a message to the SAO Facebook page. Instructions will be given to the interested individual upon sending a message to the Facebook page. Then, the applicant must submit digital copies of the requirements through email prior to the interview schedule.
Josenians who want to claim their yearbook can visit the University. However, they can only enter the guardhouse at the back gate. Those who wish to claim the yearbook must first send a message to their respective Schools (formerly colleges). Once advised when to claim the yearbook, the yearbook will be readied for pick up. Those who have other concerns with their respective Schools can send a message to the official FB page of the School where they belong.
As of September 2021, the latest available yearbook is that of Batch 2017.
While this office is open until Saturday, a staff member is only available on Wednesdays and Fridays in order to conduct psychological testing for employee applicants and life-long learners.
