Fourteen awards were garnered by Josenian Accounting students after the Cebu Federation (CF) Accountancy Week last July 15 to July 21.
It was a week-long activity which aims to unite all college chapters of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) in Cebu. Aside from USJ-R, the chapters from the University of San Carlos, University of Cebu, University of Southern Philippines Foundation, Southwestern University, Don Bosco Technical College, and University of the Visayas.
The competitions during the CF Accountancy Week were separated into two categories namely the academic and non-Academic. The former include the quiz bowl, individual exam challenge, and group exam challenge. The latter includes the search for Mr. and Ms. CF 2018, extemporaneous speaking, essay writing contest, poster making contest, spoken poetry, and dance palabas .
The said activities were held at Ayala Center Cebu.

The quiz bowl was divided into two levels. JPIA USJ-R Chapter representatives for the first level of the quiz bowl Lhieann Vhiev Emperio and Vince Miramon were awarded as the third placer. For the second level, Marianne Dell Oberes, Jacob Rizada, Maria Fatima Tan, Shiena Rose Vilbar, and John Karlo Caminero where they got the second place.
The Josenian team also placed second in the group exam challenge. The topics were about financial accounting and reporting; management advisory services; advanced financial accounting and reporting; business law and taxation; and auditing.
For the Non-Academic Competition, JPIA USJ-R Chapter was awarded as the Champion for the CF Dance Palabas Competition 2018.
This year’s representatives for Mr. & Ms. CF 2018 also bagged awards. Eddie Lloyd Gimena was awarded as Mr. Photogenic, Mr. Professionalism, Best in Production Number, and People’s Choice. Meanwhile, Marie Kharl Tan was named Ms. CF JPIA first runner-up as well as Ms. Photogenic.
For Extemporaneous Speaking, Joshua Michole Solon placed third. Genevieve Sipe also placed third for essay writing. Andrew Carilimdiman and Saira Anud were third placer for the Poster Making Contest. Lastly, Jeralden Tongco was 4th placer for the Spoken Poetry competition.
