Adelante Life Emergency Rescue Team (A.L.E.R.T) with its’ mission and dedication to ensure that all the stakeholders of the University of San Jose – Recoletos and its surrounding communities are provided with the best quality of pre- hospital emergency care and promote the continued development of our emergency medical care to the wider community.
The USJ-R Safety and Security Department (SSD) specifically the USJ-R ALERT under the supervision of its’ founder Rev. Fr. Vicente L. Ramon, Jr. OAR hosted the event last April 27 – 28, 2018 at the Talavera House of Prayer, Quiot Pardo, Cebu City. The event dubbed as “1st R.E.S.C.U.E. which stands for 1st Recoletos Emergency Services Convention and Unification Event.”
Distinguished guest speakers from Department of Health (DOH – Health & Emergency Medical Services) Region VII, Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF), HAM Radio Cebu, Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office Ambulance Personnel, Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, Danao City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DANAO CDRRMO & Rescue 211), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region VII, Recoletos Industrial and Technological Training Center (RITTC) Director Dr. Mary Ann G. Roble and our very own SSD Chief and Officer- in- Charge for USJ-R ALERT Mr. Bryan C. Maningo, MMPSM.
The Two (2) day whole day events were jam – packed with interesting and very helpful topics. Day 1 subject matters were Emergency Medicine, Intra-venous Cannulation & Intro to Advance Airway, Communication Protocol, Vehicle Extrication using Rescue Truck from Danao DRRM Office, Emergency Vehicle Operation Course, Incident Command System & Disaster Response Protocol, Schools’ Safety Management, USJ-R School DRRM Organization, RITTC EMS NCII Orientation & other TESDA offered Programs. After the discussions in Talavera House of Prayer, the participants were headed to USJ-R Basak Campus Football Field and had formed literally a “Giant Star of Life”. It symbolizes unification and camaraderie among rescue group participants and its’ host. The 1st day of the event was ended with an awarding ceremony for the newly successful EMS NC II passers from USJ-R College of Nursing students (batch 2018 Graduates) and other private individuals who took the exam (both Written & Practical Examination) through the initiative of the USJ-R ALERT which was held last January 25 –26, 2018.
The second day of the event was a scheduled tour to the following locations namely: Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, Cebu Provincial Capitol Grounds and Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (Mandaue Training Center). An awarding ceremony to all the participants was done after lunch at USJ-R Talavera House of Prayer. The second day was ended by a sumptuous Fellowship dinner for the founding father of Adelante Life Emergency Rescue Team (A.L.E.R.T) Rev. Fr. Vicente L. Ramon, Jr. OAR at the USJ-R Talavera House of Prayer.
The 1st R.E.S.C.U.E. had been actively participated by representatives from DYA-Bacolod Philippines, Inc., University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos (UNO-R Negros Occidental), Colegio San Nicolas de Tolentino – Recoletos (Talisay City Negros Occidental), Colegio de Sto. Tomas – Recoletos (San Carlos City Negros Occidental), Parish Emergency Rescue Unit Volunteers headed by Rev. Fr. Roderick T. Dequit, OAR together with PERUV Founder Rev. Fr. Rouel M. Sia, OAR (Valencia – Negros Oriental), USJ- R Junior ALERT of College of Nursing students, USJ-R Junior ALERT Student Organizations, USJ-R Junior ALERT Club represented by USJ-R Junior High School & selected Senior High School students and our very own USJ-R ALERT.
Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the USJ-R Religious and Lay Administrators, Directors, Head of Offices, Office of RIDEM, ERUF, DOH Region VII, CEBU PROVINCIAL DRRMO, CHED Region VII, Danao CDRRMO & Rescue 211 and to those who in one way or another have contributed to the success of this 1st R.E.S.C.U.E.
Let this 1st Convention be the start to continuously inspire more and ignite the fire within our hearts to actively participate and be motivated to render once valuable time and skills in “SERVICE WITH COMPASSION and VOLUNTEERISM” to live by our slogan: “ YOUR SAFETY, OUR PRIORITY ”.
