New Zealand opened opportunities for Josenian graduates who want to pursue post graduate studies when its ambassador to the Philippines visited the University of San Jose – Recoletos yesterday, February 7.
According to New Zealand Ambassador to the Philippines David Strachan, they are giving 24 post-graduate scholarships and are allocating jobs to the Filipinos.
“What we are doing now is that we’re opening up education for 2019,” he said in his speech.
Rune Ylade, the Manager of New Zealand Aid Programme, introduced the different scholarships offered concerning on agricultural development, disaster risk management, and renewable energy, there are also general program which are private sector leadership and public sector management.
He encouraged college graduates to consider and avail the grant that New Zealand government offers. He also presented the benefits of studying in foreign country which include full tuition fee in any of the eight universities which are part of the top 500 universities, stipend and establishment allowance, and medical and travel insurance.
However, he enlightened that there is no scholarship offered for undergraduates yet.
Vice President for Academics Rev. Fr. James Bumangabang, OAR said that with the scholarship program offered by New Zealand, the administration has become more motivated to level up its commitment as a provider of quality Catholic education in the country.
New Zealand visits Philippines and other ASEAN countries every year to offer scholarships and provide the grantees a multicultural learning experience.
