A performance showcasing the Filipino culture marked the Philippine Independence Day celebration of the Junior High Department at the Recoletos Coliseum.
The activity also served as the opening salvo to the new and returnee students for the school year 2017-2018.
A rendition of Mabuhay presided by the BSP, GSP and CAT leaders together with the Junior High School principal, Rev. Fr. Emilio P. Jaruda and the other school administrators marks its start.
In his speech, Rev, Fr. Emilio P. Jaruda, Jr. OAR thanked the parents for choosing to entrust their children to the University of San Jose-Recoletos. He also expressed gratitude to the students for their faithfulness to the institution.
“We would be challenged with the many different events this school year, so we must live up to this challenge as Josenians. We hope that this school year would be more fruitful and challenging,” he added.
On the other hand, Rev. Fr. Christopher Maspara, OAR stressed out on his inspirational message the four qualities that Josenians mus remember. These qualities are understanding, seriousness in one’s studies, being just and having the right attitude.
After which, the students were sent off to their respective classroom for the orientation with their class advisers.
We envision the University of San Jose-Recoletos to be a premier Gospel and Community-oriented educational institution committed to lead in instruction, research, community engagement, and innovation in order to transform Josenians into proactive and compassionate leaders, creators of communion, and dynamic partners of society in the 21st Century.
